🏠❤️ Holiday Visits & Body Safety: A Quick Refresher for Parents

Hello [FIRST NAME GOES HERE],

Holiday gatherings are here and it’s the perfect time to remind kids about body safety rules.

Kids often run around together while adults socialize. That’s part of the fun!

But the truth is this: In these unsupervised moments children can find themselves in unsafe situations that lead to child sexual abuse.

Have you seen these sobering stats?

  • Familiarity: 93% of child sexual abuse is committed by someone the child knows.
  • Child on child: 70% of child sexual abuse is perpetrated by other minors.
  • So young: Over 20% of children who are sexually abused experience the abuse before the age of 8.

I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but these stats show it’s essential to give kids a refresher talk about body safety. (And to teach them explicitly never to be unsafe with other kids.)
